Hi friends. When this pandemic started, I had to stop teaching in-person classes, but I moved right away to stream live classes every week. I’ve been doing that consistently since March 16, and today have an on demand library that has over 40 classes.
I’ve invested a lot into making quality videos in these last several weeks, and today I’m broadcasting in 1080p with high quality audio. Up to this point I have been relying on donations, but I’m at a point now where I feel comfortable in charging for my content. I hope that you will agree.
Live stream classes are here to stay. I personally will not be comfortable leading a class right when gyms open if I have to do so in a mask, and I cannot imagine students practicing yoga with a mask on either. I believe I will return to teaching in-person classes at some point, but I do not expect to keep the same schedule I had before the outbreak. I have found new joy being able to connect with you from teaching yoga online during this time, and it’s going to remain a prominent portion of my teaching schedule for the foreseeable future.
So, you might ask, what does this all mean? If you’ve been taking my live stream classes the last few weeks, not much is changing at all in regards to the classes. Live classes will still take place on YouTube, but access will be limited to Patreon members at the Live Stream Yogi tier. That level is $20 a month. All live stream classes will be available starting at that tier, and it also includes all past classes. There are two cheaper tiers that include some level of on demand classes, plus one additional tier that adds a monthly virtual private class to the Live Stream Yogi tier.
You could consider this week on my YouTube channel to be a free trial of the Live Stream Yogi tier, as the amount of content will be equal to what I’m offering on Patreon. Beginning on May 10 all new live stream classes will be exclusive to my Patreon supporters at the Live Stream Yogi tier, and only a small selection of past classes will remain available for free on my YouTube channel.
I have very generous students, and for many of you, $20 a month will be considerably less than what you were donating before. I hope you will consider joining me on this journey as I open my online yoga studio.
